Bitstrips App: Awesome or Annoying?

Bitstrips App: Awesome or Annoying?

We’ve seen quite a few Facebook fads over the years. Most Facebook users surely remember how popular the What People Think I Do and SomeEcards trends were (and still are, especially if you’re over 25). Now people have found another way to channel their sarcasm and passive-aggressiveness: the Bitstrips app.
If you aren’t quite sure what that is yet, scroll through a dozen or so updates in your Facebook feed and look for a post that looks something like this:
That is what a Bitstrips comic looks like, and Bitstrips have become insanely popular lately. While the Bitstrips website has been around for years, it has really taken off since launching apps on the Apple App Store and Google Play this week. The Bitstrips website already has 11 millionunique users.
Bitstrips’ CEO Jacob Blackstock offers up a pretty basic description of the app. “It’s an app that turns you and your friends into a cast of cartoon characters,” said Blackstock. “Then you can take those characters and put them into crazy scenes.” After you create an improved version of yourself (or “avatar”), you can pick from hundreds of situations to insert the avatar in and add your own captions:
Amazingly enough, The Toronto based company has gotten this successful without doing any advertising. “We’ve done zero advertising, and our acquisition cost so far has been nothing,” Shahan Panth, the marketing VP for Bitstrips, said. “We attribute it to striking a chord with people and providing a visual element to online communication that has been missing.”
To show just how popular Bitstrips has become, Bitstrips was the top free app in the iPhone App Store this week.
1. “Bitstrips”, Bitstrips
2. “Deer Hunter 2014″, Glu Games Inc.
3. “Batman: Arkham Origins”, Warner Bros.
4. “Free Ringtones for iOS 7″, Apalon
5. “Asphalt 8: Airborne”, Gameloft
6. “YouTube”, Google, Inc.
7. “CSR Classics”, NaturalMotion
8. “Facebook”, Facebook, Inc.
9. “Candy Crush Saga”, King.com Limited
10. “Snapchat”, Snapchat, Inc.
Ready to make your own Bitstrips comic now? Get started on the Bitstrips website or on Facebook. You can also download the Bitstrips app using the App Store on your iPhone or Google Play on your Droid device. Now you’re all set to waste some time, show off your wit and annoy your friends.

SEO For Facebook Graph Search

SEO For Facebook Search Graph

Yesterday was a surprising day for me because once again Facebook announced their search engine named Graph Search. Why Facebook launched this tool? Anyone knows that… I think no because recently market watch posted on their site that Facebook lost 1.4 million active users in U.S. I don’t why Facebook was lose too much active users in U.S but this news is crucial for everyone either your are entrepreneur or small businessman.

Yet, I haven’t checked the Facebook Graph Search preview but in fact there are dozens and dozens of write ups on how it works and why it works as it does.

Danny also wrote on Facebook Graph search and Matt already published SEO tips forFacebook search. How anyone use this new tool for SEO?

In a nutshell, look at this video:

Did SEOs become aware of it? Of course they should. I feel that this is early stages of whatFacebook Graph Search can do. Currently, this tool is limited to folks, photos, places and interests. I am surprised to see that they don’t have events or posts enabled in search or several of the other gated Facebook content.

So the most crucial face for SEOs to take notice on this is the spots. Building the local business come up. How? Obviously location and likes are significant.

Everyone should observe, Bing also plays an important role when it falls outside of people, photos, places or interests, Bing is the search engines. Are you hungry to know? Then Bing Blog is good for you.

What are you waiting for try Facebook Graph Search yourself, sign up for the beta over here. It may takes days, weeks or months to be approved.

Facebook Officaly Launches Sponsored Results For Search

Facebook Search Ads Without Keyword Targeting

Facebook set up their sponsored search ads this week, permitting advertise to display ads based on user search queries on facebook.com. We talked about the beta a few month ago and now it is seeable to all.

Here is a screen shot:

Facebook Search Ads

Facebook Search Ads2
Grey finn has a good write up on it at Marketing Land with comments from Facebook.
We have launched a feature that surfaces sponsored results along with the organic results when people are searching for things on Facebook. We try to show people apps and pages they’ll be most interested in.
When taking with Facebook about search targeting and purpose, a answer gave us the following quote:
Advertisers can target specific search entities that they’d like to show up against, including Pages, Places, and Apps. In summation to entity targeting, advertisers can further filter their ads based on demographics, position, and connections (those who Like vs. don’t Like my page already).

The thing is, advertisers don’t large on keywords, they bid on specific existence such as pages, places or apps in place of buying the specific keywords phrases, eldritch, possible, but maybe this will work for Facebook?

Facebook isn’t phoning them search ads, but rather Sponsored Results." and Ads can bought through Facebook’s Power Editor.

Rumor Radar: Yahoo! Plots Alliance With Facebook In New Search Deal

A Yahoo-Facebook Search Engine Would Be A Brilliant Move For Both Companies--Here's Why

Facebook-Yahoo Search Engine
According to unrevealed sources referred by The Sunday Telegraph, CEO of Yahoo, Marissa Mayer and COO of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg, are in dialogue for a “major jump forward in search.”

As anyone already knows, Bing is the only search engine who are using data from Facebook, and users this data in its social search programme. It is very improbable that a deal between Yahoo! and Facebook will be set up without Bing, yet not unlikely. The question is what occurs between Microsoft and Yahoo! if the bruited deal goes by, and how is Bing going to cope, thinking that “social search” is the search engine’s aim since 2010?

Taking over that Facebook and Yahoo! do close a search deal, will this “spell the end ofYahoo!’s relationship with Microsoft,” as connote by The Sunday Telegraph? It is very improbable that Marissa Mayer will threaten one of the most profitable Yahoo! strives, the ad network presently running as Yahoo! Bing Network. What do you imagine?

How to Deal with Complainers on Facebook and Twitter Infographic

Are looking a couple of guidelines on how exactly to take care of those complainers onFacebook and Twitter? I currently wrote a post for Promoting Profs on this incredibly theme!

For each and every issue showed , studies represent that more than 25 go unregistered . As opposed to complain , the largest percentage of those letdown customers simply take their business in other places . And the millions ( or billions ) of lost revenue are hardly ever retrieved . But also for those people who do make a complaint , there is not any one proper way to reply simply because every scenario is different . In fact , it's crucial that you look at different complainer persona's and behave correctly.

Social media is an facilitating channel for consumers and allows most of them a voice , because they wouldn't or else have the time , options , or energy to directly log complaints by standard channels . Suitably, social media now performs a unique and progressively vital role in safeguarding both brand investment and customer loyalty . A lot more consumers are now utilizing social media to communicate with brands;however, most customer complaints , queries , and remarks keep on being unanswered by those brands.

To recognize how social is needed, look at latest infographic that describes the different complainer categories as well as how to reply via social media:

Integrate Facebook Google Plus Twitter

Consolidate all your Facebook status update and Twitter tweet’s back on to Google Plus. Cool right?

What it does is drags all your Facebook status update news and tweets to one single stream on Google Plus.

What I really like to see is to combine everything else including Google Plus and Twitter onFacebook and not vice versa.

A Timeline of Facebook Parties Gone Wrong

Facebook Parties

Facebook Parties
Although the movie “Project X”, which debuted in 2012, was inspired by a true story, what most people don’t know is that the film also inspired a lot of true events. You might say that while art copies life, in this case life also copied art, almost like a vicious circle. The Australian teenager from Melbourne named Corey Worthington Delaney was the responsible for the beginning of this entire circle, when he organized a major party in 2008 that turned into a dangerous riot of 500 people. He managed to gather all these guests just with MySpace and text messages and generate a wave of panic in his once peaceful neighborhood.

However, there were also major parties that went wrong after the debut of the movie. Some of them figure in our latest infographic, like the gathering that happened in the beginning of 2013, in Dublin (Ireland). At the time, 200 people came to the party after hearing about it onFacebook and Twitter. Besides spilling drinks and smashing bottles everywhere, the crowd even managed to demolish some walls and floors…

Some parties were more literal and clearly based on the movie: “Project M” was scheduled to happen in March of 2012, in Michigan (USA), but the police found the plan and cancelled the party in order to avoid something like what happened in the film. Also in March of 2012, a Canadian student organized a party entitled “Project Kris”. In just 24 hours, theannouncement meant for only 30 guests had been viewed by 900,000 people. Similar events were scheduled to happen in the small Dutch town of Haren and in the province Pilar Partido, in Argentina, but were stopped by the police. To find out more about the world of wild celebrations, check our new infographic and maybe get some ideas for your next party!

How To Conduct Oneself on Facebook

How To Conduct Oneself on Facebook

How to conduct oneself on Facebook When one steps into the crowded world of social media they are presenting an image of themselves for all their friends and acquaintances to judge them by. As society becomes more reliant on sites like Facebook it is important to treat Facebook as an online marketing tool, and you are the brand or product in question.

The similarities between a successful marketing campaign and attaining a shed load of likeson Facebook run deeper than you might think.

It is essential to engage your audience by creating a real buzz around yourself. Appearing desperate, rude or mean will distance you from your Facebook friends and hamper your ability to collect likes.

Here is my four-step guide to proper Facebook behavior:

Likes

Facebook likes are an important currency for online marketers. Whilst not the most significant, they are a good register of the success of your campaign.

However, many companies over-emphasise their importance and try to bully their Facebook friends into liking. Phrases such as “like if you think this is important” or “like if you agree” accompanying posts reek of a desperate attempt to pressure their audience into liking. When an a person feels like they're being forced to do something, their natural reaction is to resist.

Some firms have taken it a step further and have even started purchasing likes from smaller companies.

Remember, being cool is about not trying too hard. Be subtle about it.

Sometimes, more is less

As we've ascertained, pleading for or trying to force people to like your posts is not a great look for you. But a question remains: how active should I be on Facebook?

When the platform was in its infancy and companies were unfamiliar with it, they tried to get away with the bare minimum of Facebook advertising. Today, the reverse is true, and many companies are guilty of flooding their followers with too much information. Bombarding yourfollowers with a new post every 15 minutes is a sure-fire way to be perceived as a Facebook pest and lose followers.

Unfortunately, there is no airtight formula to calculate the optimal number of posts. Yourbest bet is to set a weekly or monthly target and not overstep it. Gauge your success and alter that benchmark as you see fit.

Never compensate the quality of a post for quantity. Ask yourself whether you believe that your followers will like it. This is also true for your personal page. A new addition to the family (babies, kittens and puppies are always liked) is going to spark a lot more interest than saying you've just washed your hair.

#Hashtags

Facebook only recently adopted hashtags after seeing their successful application on Twitter. This being the case, you should treat them in the same way as you would on Twitter: limited numbers, relevant content. Swarms of hashtags are both visually unappealing and have that air of desperation we mentioned earlier.

One rule to rule them all

Offer your followers and friends valuable content. “Would I read this?” should be the first question in your mind when considering a post. If you wouldn't, don't post it.
