According to unrevealed sources referred by The Sunday Telegraph, CEO of Yahoo, Marissa Mayer and COO of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg, are in dialogue for a “major jump forward in search.”
As anyone already knows, Bing is the only search engine who are using data from Facebook, and users this data in its social search programme. It is very improbable that a deal between Yahoo! and Facebook will be set up without Bing, yet not unlikely. The question is what occurs between Microsoft and Yahoo! if the bruited deal goes by, and how is Bing going to cope, thinking that “social search” is the search engine’s aim since 2010?
Taking over that Facebook and Yahoo! do close a search deal, will this “spell the end ofYahoo!’s relationship with Microsoft,” as connote by The Sunday Telegraph? It is very improbable that Marissa Mayer will threaten one of the most profitable Yahoo! strives, the ad network presently running as Yahoo! Bing Network. What do you imagine?
