How Google Glass works in simple terms

Google’s Project Glass is an exciting (and controversial) piece of technology. A wearable heads-up display with you at all times makes for a radically new experience, a much more intimate dialog with technology.

But how does it work, how does the image come to be on the little glass display and is it always in the corner of your eye, or could it also be in the center? Those are all interesting questions, that we now have the answer to in a neat infographic by Cody, a member of the Google Glass Explorer program.

Basically, the most interesting piece of technology in Glass is the display. Actually it is a prism onto which a projector sends an image. That image is what your retina focuses on. So this combination of a miniature projector and a prism allows Glass to show you an overlay to reality. The angle of the prism directs the image directly into your fovea, the part of your retina where you have the most visual acuity.

This is a personal favorite because it reminds me of the pain I once had working at a project long time back where the video player needed to enlarge without losing the aspect ratio. Again a personal favorite, this lightweight[4KB] plugin adds cross-browser mouse wheel support. You can easily bind/unbind the mouse wheel to any DOM object just the way you bind/unbind a mouse click. Using the parameters of the callback function, this plugin makes it possible to make the scrolling animations possible.

Nokia Lumia 925

Nokia 925 can be termed as the big brother of its latest Windows 8 features prodigy, Lumia 925. It features several significant improvements, not a complete overhaul though, both in terms of performance as well as design.

Design

It boast’s of a gleamy metal body, which makes it stand out of the league of Lumia smartphones. However, it still sports the trademark polycarbonate back cover. It has cut down a few carbs, now weighs 139 grams only, and 8mm thinner.

It also sports a whopping 2,000 MaH battery, ensures a day long powerup.

Camera

The most significant aspect of any Nokia Smartphone is it’s camera technology. 925 is equipped with 8.7 MP Pureview rear camera and 1.3 MP front camera. It delivers promising snaps and captures even in low-light scenarios.

It has an intuitive Image stabilization functionality which enables you to capture photos and videos in fast-paced motion as well. Brand new ‘Best Shot’ feature captures 10 versions of a single image differed by millisecond time variation, and lets you choose the best alternative.

Price

There isn’t an official announcement regarding it’s price tag, it is rumored to be priced the same as current 920’s market price.
